Adolescent Medicine
The adolescent medicine at GIH Children's Hospital provides primary care and specialised care for tweens, teens and young adults aged between 10-22. We offer specialised referral services and a wellness approach to preventive medicine, including: reproductive health care (period problems, gynaecologic nonsurgical needs, comprehensive counselling), obesity counselling, eating disorder prevention and management.
Our adolescent medicine physicians are dedicated to providing quality, evidence-based care for all our adolescent patients.
Allergy & Immunology
Children's Hospital's Paediatric Allergy department provides a variety of outpatient and inpatient services for children through the age of 21, suffering from common and unusual allergic and immunologic disorders.
We are also actively involved in allergy treatment to ensure child and adolescent patients receive leading edge treatment and care.
Endocrinology
We offer expertise in all areas of Paediatric Endocrinology at GIH Children's Clinic from juvenile diabetes, growth and puberty disorders to sex differentiation. We place special emphasis on understanding how the patient and the family are affected by endocrine disorders.
Our endocrinology team has a wide range of clinical experience and expertise in providing comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and management of complex hormonal problems.
Epilepsy
At GIH Children's Clinic we strive to meet the unique needs of every child with epilepsy. Each year, there are more than 2,000 paediatric epilepsy patient visits to our outpatient clinics. Advanced technology enables us to provide accurate diagnosis, effective treatment and improved quality of life.
Our paediatric epilepsy team specializes in the expert management of status epilepticus, focused on treating cases of epilepsy and seizures in children.
Epilepsy is a term used for a group of disorders characterized by a tendency for recurring seizures, which are caused by a sudden increase in electrical activity in the brain that may alter behavior, motor function or consciousness.
There are different types of epilepsy and seizures and not all seizures are due to epilepsy.
