Keyhole Surgery
Our approach to diseases of the digestive tract is demanding a closer look. Sometimes it is all in the details. It is how Gulu Independent physicians identify and treat the Diseases of Upper and Lower Digestive Tracts. The use of Digital Camera Imaging Technology has given our doctors powerful leverage for detecting gastrointestinal deadly diseases like Hiatal Hernia, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Peptic Ulcers, Esophageal and Gastric Cancers, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases etc. During the endoscopic examination they are also able to perform Biopsy and to sample of specimens for Microscopic Histopathological Examination. The evaluation of the specimens by the pathologist can confirm inflammatory or malignant diseases.   Moreover our specialists can offer Abdominal Ultrasound to our patients. Abdominal Ultrasound   is an essential examination of the Liver, Biliary Tract and Gallbladder, Spleen and Kidneys.

Our lead doctor is a specialist in Abdominal Surgery as well as in Laparoscopy, Diagnostic Endoscopy and Endoscopic Therapeutic Interventions. He is capable to perform Endoscopic Treatment of Acute Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage, Ligation and Sclerotization of Esophageal Varices, Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy etc.  According to his opinion to grand the Complex Medical care is the most important for our patients.  We are capable to offer our patient's professional first-rate diagnostics as well as following adequate surgical management. Some procedures like Cholecystectomy, Repair of Inguinal Hernia, Appendicectomy, Fundoplication, Suture of Perforated Peptic Ulcer can be done by Laparoscopic approach with big benefit for patients. The term Laparoscopy means Minimally Invasive Surgery. After this approach patients have less pain and recover more quickly.     GIH believes that using advanced technology and employing the right medical specialist in aiding treatment lead to powerful innovation, improving survival and quality of life.
